Ok everyone seeing as the real contest has just declared Portugal as the winner, the PE Song Contest is now closed for nominations.

The winner will be announced in due course when the Landlord feels like it!

Thanks to all watchers/listeners and nominators!

If you would like to try and influence the Landlord's decision let us know your favorite from the contest :-D

I am trying to find an example of Athena's throat singing which she learned from a Mongolian or Tuvan group then adapted,
As we haven't had Mongolia yet I propose this one.
Country: Mongolia.
Song: Qinghai Lake.
Singer: Unknown.

China.
12-Girls Band (original).
Cloudy Sky.

It is a crying shame that whoever produces the 12-girls band feels the need to add the midi backing track, totally superfluous.
That aside, the 12GB are magnificent.

P.Egg-Song Contest 2017 Winner Decision pending

Post by NewcastleFalcon » 14 May 2017, 10:03

Steve I'm afraid you've inadvertently fallen foul of the pedantic rules of the "Pickled Egg Song Contest 2017"

I'm afraid the closing of nominations was declared here

Some very interesting selections though, but can they be taken into account in the judgement of the winner of the 2017 contest, or should they be deferred to the 2018 contest? The landlord is currently mulling over the decision, but in general favours chance rather than logic in such matters, so it may be down to a toss of a coin!

Sorry Neil, I never saw that. If I was in the thread when you posted I don't get the new posts message :(

I'd wait until there have been some other contributors though.

Ted and Dougal could have been contenders Bobins :!:

Looking back some tremendous contributions scratching the surface of "world music". There is so much more to be enjoyed than the stuff we habitually listen to :-D Long may the Pickled Egg push the boundaries!

Some excellent contributions from Steve as ever, and keep them coming. The PE jukie is always open for new suggestions.
