My new next door neighbour was playing this earlier when I was hanging washing out but I have only just remembered the title.
It may be heresy but I prefer this to the one she was playing by that Bob Marley fella.

Elisa : Italy (Or Jamaica if you like)
Redemption Song.

Elina Garanca (Latvian) and Anna Netrebko (Russian)

This is 'just' a rehearsal. Elina is the blond one.

The Rules :!:
Nominate a "Song" identify the "Country" provide the customary listening/viewing link.
More than one entry per country/nominator allowed.....may the best song win.

Customary bias to be supplied by the Landlord, nominations close when the Landlord feels like it, winner arbitrarily awarded by the Landlord :-D
Excellent Steve, nominations from a good crop of countries, nice to see Leonard Cohen in from Canada...like to see Eurovision's effort to try and match that :-D

Anna Maria Hefele Germany

Should we risk something different, and remarkable. I have no idea what is best in her repertoire so just pulled out an example at random. You can plainly see the three instruments in this song, you can discern the sounds of the harp and the accordion, all the other sounds are her voice.

Another conglomeration.
Singer - Azam Ali (Persian)
Language - only Azam Ali knows, sometimes Farsi, sometimes she makes it up on the fly.
Instruments: Azam Ali: Santur. Greg Ellis: Percussion.

"Refuge"

A lot like "Dead Can Dance"

That's nice Neil!

The throat singing is like that of Athena Andreadis. I was amazed the first time I heard her do it.

Which leads nicely into one I have had lurking in the background and another mishmash.
Country: Paraguay
Artist: Mika Agametsu (Japan)
Music: Natsunoomoide

She is something of a folk hero in South America and has the most enchanting smile.
