Second appearance for Gregory Peck on an opening titles cast list....nice bit of horse hooves percussion in the background! Top film!

I lost one last night - may have posted it in the wrong thread but can't find it.

Film is "Jacquou le Croquant"
Singer is Mylène Farmer
Song is "Devant soi"
Excellent film that again I bought for this song - it is not on any of her albums.
The film turned out to be excellent.
There is a character in it (Le Galiote) played by a particularly beautiful Serbian/Montenegran supermodel, Bojana Panic.

The actual theme (Mylène only sings the end titles out).

Enrico Morricone has done some excellent film music.

"Once Upon A Time In America"

(Deborah's Theme)
There is a version set to words (and I am sure you can guess who sings it best)
Not Patricia Janeckova but she does do rather well.

Vocalise only, she doesn't sing the words written by Dulce Pontas.

Another Morricone favourite is "Gabriel's Oboe" from "The Mission

Sarah Brightman coerced him into allowing words to be set to it. Again no prizes for guessing who sings it best.

Another favourite is Vangellis.

Saw this years ago and was very taken with it - unfortunately it was credited to a different author and took me ages to find it.

"Le'Enfant" from "The Year Of Living Dangerously"

Also from Vangellis, the theme from "1492" - must watch that one day.

And of course the "Blade Runner" music.

And with the fabulous Vanessa Mae, "Roxanne's Veil" from "Alexander".

A recent discovery - I have a better version (by guess who) but it is not up on YouTube but this is a close second.

Just seen this and had to share it.

In case you don't recognise it it is "Without You" originally by Badfinger but made famous by Harry Nilsson and ruined by Mariah Carey.

P.E. Jukebox-Saturday Night's Alright!

Unread post by NewcastleFalcon »

After a slow start to FNIMN at the PE, the Landlord has declared it a resounding success. Thanks to all contributors and spectators! Of course Saturday Night, could be one of a few things and a regular appearer as a phrase in song lyrics probably most famously in this.....take it away Robson and Jerome!

Thank goodness for that Bobins, I thought I had killed the thread with Robson and Jerome! In mitigation the choice on you tube was limited of the Drifters doing Saturday night at the movies from an appearance on Ted Rogers 3-2-1, to a not that good black and white version.

before other contributors raise the tone hopefully I will keep it low.

Best thing to be said for the Rollers, in their heyday they could entertain a crowd and were 100% better than they are now :)

Must admit, I wasn't aware that there was ever a good time to play Robson and Jerome. :-D

I had a look for a good version of Blue Nile's 'Saturday Night' to go along with the Saturday theme, but couldn't find an inspiring live version on Youtube. I was sure a promo video for it existed (thought I had an original one here somewhere !!) but it appears not :(
I could post up Flowered Up's 'Weekender' in keeping with the Saturday night ambience...... but I think it may not be suitable for the Pickled Egg :rofl2:

Brian Wilson is a fantastic artist, and has penned a song called Saturday Night, which mercifully he enlisted the assistance of Nate Reuss to do most of the singing.

Letting youtube just flow on I liked this track with "She and Him"....nice nothing to do with Saturday Night though.
