Somewhat ironically this has just popped up.

My second daughter and her husband have just arrived in NZ for a six week holiday with someone he worked with.
He was on a cable laying boat there repairing damaged cables, he was the captain.

I have to agree Steve, that is a beautiful track and a great example of how important breath control is playing woodwind. I started my woodwind, excluding recorders, with the flute and went through the oboe and an ill fated try on the bassoon before Acker released his Stranger on the Shore which I first encountered as the theme to the TV program of the same name. After that I was hooked on the clarinet until 3 years later when I got my first guitar.

This was the piece that I couldn't get close to so I turned to the guitar!

One of my favourites too, inherited from my dad.
I like the whole thing though, by several musicians including but not limited to Lola Astonova, Alice Sarah Ott, Khatia Buniatishvilli, Yuja Wang and Emily Bear.
