I think this classic pretty much proves the point!!

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

A massive sorry on my part for not wishing Millie Small a rest in peace, what a legend and what a song she sung

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

Irwin Mitchell, what a legend, the Spitfire changed so much from its early racing days

Erm, it was R. J. Mitchell (Reginald Joseph) who designed the Spitfire (as well as the Supermarine S.6B Seaplane that won the Schnieder Trophy three times in five years, thereby allowing the UK to hold it in perpetuity).Rp0thejester wrote: 11 Nov 2023, 20:06 Irwin Mitchell, what a legend, the Spitfire changed so much from its early racing days

Years ago Mum worked for Digital Equipment Corporation, and they held a commemorative Schnieder race in 1984. We (the whole family) were sailing on a Channel Ferry chartered for that purpose, and the race was an awesome sight to behold.

Re: Pickled Egg Jukebox-Your Selections
Of course it was!!! Where did I get Irwin from? Probably from parachutes. I read somewhere that the Spitfire got its name from a relative of his who would spit fire if angered. A bit like Phorpress bricks being spelt wrong as the owner was dyslexic and couldn't spell, he over heard employees mentioning it so stamped Phorpress on them on purpose

Sprouting from this tape here relating to Old TV Transmitter announcements and the associated music.
This is a single by Ray Cathode...think about it...a pseudonym of Maddalena produced with George Martin. Originally penned for the accompanying music for the television transmitter announcements.
Neil
Hands up if you know who George Martin is....yes a reasonable sea of metaphorical hands raised there. How about Maddalena Fagandini....not so many...maybe the odd BBC Radiophonic Workshop fan.Remember these All our Yesterdays thread...

Re: Pickled Egg Jukebox-Your Selections
Another YouTube recommended track - am familiar with Starlight (which I am also flabbergasted to find is more than twenty years old!) But Call My Name is a much more recent track.
Might be a bit weird for some, and the video definitely is!
For some reason it puts me a little in mind of Blur's Parklife , not sure why!
The lady at the fish counter is also familiar, not sure where I might have seen her before.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Indeed, Berit always has seven string custom Ibanez guitars.
The reference to 'Light strips' had me looking for LED light strings at first

Always liked this by Dylan, partly as it reminds me of an old girlfriend.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Thanks for the link, I`m actually a big fan of nordic melodic power- and folkmetal like Amorphis, In Flames, Eluveitie and Sonata Arctica just to name a few of many but I have never heard of Berit Hagen before. I currently have four guitars, a semi-acoustic Explorer I built myself, a Clifton nylon acoustic, the Satriani and the first guitar I ever bought, a Squier Stratocaster I`ve had for over twenty years and will never part with. Nursing an apocalyptic headache writing this so gonna check out berit once it eases out a bit
