I tend to agree but for the fact that Paul Simon gets to sing more in this version. I believe that one of the accelerants in the original break-up of the pair was that Paul Simon became fed up with Art Garfunkel taking all the applause whenever they performed this song while he, the writer, was left in the background.

Could have been played on Jo Whiley's Paddington theme :-D. In all likelyhood, it will have been a while since you heard this song. Random choice from a playlist from a BBC Wales Radio show this morning. It will be an FCF Spooky if it comes up on Heardle60's now.

For a bit of amusement, rather than a "theme", how about a Pickled egg jukebox Chain, expiring midnight.

The "Reflections of my Life" track by Marmalade can start it off. I will not curate the chain, but I do think if it follows a musician link it may come up with interesting tracks. The obvious link is for the co-writer of the tune, Junior Campbell no less.

Hallelujah Freedom is his most well-known track so I've gone for a different one as first link in the chain.

Pick the ball up and run with it if you can!

I like this idea but I've never heard of Junior Cambell so I will extract my link from the track title 'Sweet Illusion' and take us to Sweet: :-D

Convoluted, but bear with me.

Blondie were formed by Debbie Harry and Chris Stein. For the 2022 tour of Blondie, Chris Stein was unable to play due to ill health so Glen Matlock took his place. Glen Matlock possibly best known for The Sex Pistols, but he later had a band called The Rich Kids along with Midge Ure and Rusty Egan (both later forming Visage). Rusty Egan, amongst other things, is one of the main forces and originators of The New Romantic movement. So now you know.

I was going to move on seamlessly to Come back and Stay by Paul Young.
First come first served though so this post is a dead end.

Very Nearly got onto "New Boots and Panties" with a subsequent link...but thats gone!
Blondie's Hanging on the Telephone was surprisingly a cover of a song by Jack Lee who performed it with "The Nerves"
Jack also wrote come back and stay for Paul Young

Taking Mick Ronson the Producer of Rich Kids Album "Ghosts of the Princes in the Tower" which included the track Rich Kids, we go to Suffragette City where he twangs his guitar and other things

Apart from the obvious in that they're both Johns, Elton John was originally in Long John Baldry's band for a little while. Elton's song "Someone saved my life tonight" was actually written due to Baldry and Taupin finding him when he'd tried to commit suicide. I read the Elton John book "Captain Fantastic" recently which gives more details. Anyways, I haven't come up with a next step on from Long John Baldry yet, so carry on as before
