Chuck is a sort of Charles, isn't it?

So that opens it up for Carolyn?

I heard her sing this on Top Of The Pops in the early sixties and though that it was wonderful.
Went and bought the LP the following day, took it back the day after that.
Dreadful, not anything like her live version.

This will ruin your ears Mick.

Thanks for the warning Steve, I got to 43 secs and then had to duck out!! :-D

Here's a similar one step removed offering - and who said Cliff Richard looked daft trying to dance while he sang? :-D

As Chuck is acceptable as a once removed option here's a double barrelled one step removed track:

It seems apt to me that England's Rugby Fans' adopted anthem warrants a hearing as it qualifies as a one step removed option but has more cultural significance!!: :-D

I thought that it was Rick Astley who was vilified for his 'dancing', never heard the Cliff Richard one.
Although they all look ridiculous to me. With very, very few exceptions.
Sandra Cygan in one instance, that I can't find again.
Gloria Estefan, again in one instance that has evaporated.

And possibly these two.

Here's a track which I have come across while searching for something else and so I gave it a go. There are aspects which I really enjoyed but I'm not sure about the whole thing!! :-D

I have reminded myself of the work of Tina Charles, and found my opinion hasnt changed but if anyone happens to like it, bang on topic for the thread.

So its over to the feminine derivations of Charles, Carolina in my mind. Charlotte is also derived from Charles if tracks can be found.

A classic of cringeworthyness, but somehow it's so bad its good the same time.
Vid starts at the relevant section

If you want to sing along
Libra and my name is Charles
Now I like a woman that's quiet
A woman who carries herself like Miss Universe
Mmm... take my hand
Come with me, baby, to Love Land
Let me show you how sweet it could be.

Thanks for the selections, another Pickled Egg Jukebox theme adds some interesting ones to the collection, that would not have been dug out had it not been for the theme and the usual FCF creativity. :-D. Enjoyed the discovery of the bloke from the blockheads writing such a powerhouse track and Christo Redemptor (Aka Redentor) by Charlie Musselwhite, which secondhandsongs has the original composed by Duke Pearson, and first recorded by Donald Byrd in 1963. Harvey Mandrel is on the list but a bit later on in 1969.

I was also pleased to come across this little ensemble again, in French, but right up my boulevard.

Try this man, we saw him in cabaret at the now long gone Crystal Room in Hereford many years ago.
