That's tweaked a memory - I'm sure I've come across Imogen Heap on 6Music before in the dim and distant past and thought I need to find out more. Ta for reminding me :)

Reading a book late last night there was a line that struck a chord. Ponder it for a while, heard it with a distinctive voice but unable to place the voice or the line.
Did a quick search and it came up with a couple of options, one singer I had never heard of and the other Joni Mitchel and "Both Sides Now".
But it wasn't, definitely the wrong voice. Trying to match it I wondered about Polly Harvey (no) and Patti Smith (again, no).

Woke up with it still in my head and it resolved into:

And:
She will always carry on
Something is lost
But something is found

I loved the story about Chrissie Hind, who was a journalist for IIRC NME, who said that she could do better than the crap she was writing about, so she did.
They will keep on speaking her name
Some things change
Some stay the same

Odd that I remembered the lyrics, although incorrect, as the lyrics generally pass me by, I like the 'noise' and her voice. Only just realised what she was singing about.
Lots of nice words, just never put them together previously.

And, with reference to Joni and Both Sides Now (that I always think is call 'Clouds')

I hate to say it but not her best work. Rather bland, I don't think her voice is suited to this song.

You may not be wrong about the title Steve, and you are definitely not wrong about the song not suiting JE. Just to clarify both points, note the title on top left corner as it plays and just listen: :-D

At least the confusion is understandable with the word 'clouds' having a significant part in the lyrics. Unlike this song where it has a title seldom quoted other than by true fans, instead it is frequently called 'Feelin' Groovy' when it is entitled 'The 59th Street Bridge Song', I wonder why? :-D

Edit: I found out why, it was named after the 59th Street Bridge in New York when written!

Just harking back to the comedy records, I'm surprised nobody posted this one up.

As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Inside every old person is a young person wondering what the hell happened.

I'll have to consult the LP, in the archives somewhere. Also the version by Judy Collins.

I've always wondered why this song is never sung at karaoke. A simple dedication and then, You are so.......

We've had nothing with Tom Lehrer so far. It was a toss-up (with my three sided coin) between Poisoning Pigeons in the Park, Elements and this:

As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Inside every old person is a young person wondering what the hell happened.

Now that reminded me of another great comedy song with piano by an artist sadly taken from us far too soon, she must deserve a place in our collection: :-D

Absolutely loved that woman, still love her songs to this day!! I watched her stand up on TV as a kid, never knew about innuendos at that age.

This reminds me of being a dad for the first time, Tim is so clever with his wording in his songs.
