Well Ive reached the bottom of the barrel for contributions for "U" day on the FCF Musical Advent Calendar without scraping the depths of obscure jazz artists, so why not put up some NOn-U bands/artists With "U" songs on the PE Jukebox as an aside
Union City Blue

University Challenge Theme OOps its a full episode with Bamber but the original tune is there at the start :-D

Seeing as it is the winter solstice today, why not let Jethro Tull ring out Solstice bells :?:

Looking around the W's for the Musical Advent Calendar wondered if Steve Winwood could be shoe-horned in but assumed that he couldn't especially seeing as his first two solo albums "were recorded at his home in Gloucestershire with Winwood playing all instruments". Led me onto another W possibility Will Powers, ultimately rejected as not band-ey enough.

A fair collection of musical and producing heavyweights contributed to the album this came from, and this single, gave co-writing credits to Steve Winwood, Nile Rodgers, Todd Rundgren, Jacob Brackman as well as Lynn Goldsmith aka (Will Powers)

Without looking it up who is the lead female voice on the song :?:

......very famous artist uncredited on the record.

Given the shoeless girl in the video was it Sandie Shaw? :)

No, American Artist here's a couple of lines from one of her songs

Your scarf it was apricot"

Correct! Looking up the lyrics for your so vain I clearly have misheard them i always thought they were

You had one eye in the mirror, as you watched yourself go by
And all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner

You had one eye in the mirror, as you watched yourself gavotte
And all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner

Have to admit I couldnt gavotte if I wanted to without looking it up in the dictionary first :-D

^^^^^^ it is Steve :-D

Having mentioned Steve Winwood it would be a shame not to give an airing to what is not only one of his best songs, but one of the best popular songs by anyone.

Weather Report got an honourable mention on the FCF musical Advent Calendar. This most definitely would have been my choice.
