I really was saddened by today's news. She was my first childhood crush when I was allowed to watch The Avengers after Honor Blackman had left. A beautiful woman and a superb actress who managed to portray a character doing some frankly impossibly absurd things in a way which was believable.
Is it a coincidence that the video begins with the closing crystal ball scene from the episode shown on ITV4 this morning? Secondly did the lyricist really think she had an MG?
RIP Diana.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
Reminded by Neil's post with an Alizarin Crimson Leaf, some hippy s**t, also mentions among others "Rose Carmethine" which is just as intriguing.
"Color in sky, prussian blue
Scarlet fleece changes hue
Crimson ball sinks from view
Wear your love like heaven (wear your love like)
Wear your love like heaven (wear your love like)
Wear your love like heaven (wear your love)
Lord, kiss me once more
Fill me with song
Allah, kiss me once more
That I may, that I may
Wear my love like heaven (wear my love like)
Wear my love like heaven (wear my love)
La-la, la-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la
Color sky, havana lake
Color sky, rose carmethene
Alizarin crimson
Wear your love like heaven (wear your love like)
Wear your love like heaven (wear your love like)
Wear your love like heaven (wear your love)
Lord, kiss me once more
Fill me with song
Allah, kiss me once more
That I may, that I may
Wear my love like heaven (wear my…
Cannot believe what I see
All I have wished for will be
All our race proud and free
Wear your love like heaven (wear your love like)
Wear your love like heaven (wear your love like)
Wear your love like heaven (wear your love)
Lord, kiss me once more
Fill me with song
Allah, kiss me once more
That I may, that I may
Wear my love like heaven (wear my love like)
Wear my love like heaven (wear my love)

The most memorable "crimson" reference in song lyrics for me is in Steely Dan's "Deacon Blues". Bit of a melancholy tone to the "hook of the song" but the band Deacon Blue took their name from it.
They got a name for the winners in the world
I want a name when I lose
They call Alabama the "Crimson Tide"
Call me Deacon Blues
"Crimson Tide" refers to the University of Alabama College Football Team, and henceforth to the movie "Crimson Tide"
..and tonights Pickled Egg Jukebox theme......select some tracks loosely based on this image. The ales advertised in the back window are "White Hot", "Red Dust", and "Steel Town"
Consett Ale Works van bit out of area down at the seaside at Craster
Red Dust is pretty good. Zero 7 are an English musical duo consisting of Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker apparently.
I like a bit of new stuff you wouldnt ordinarily come across, and all randomly inspired by a logo-ed up small brewery van out of place , but very familiar to yours truly!

Steel River....Chris Rea
Absolute class, superb song
and as Mick saw on his stroll, here's Steel River a little farther upstream. I dont know if it was seeing the power of the peaty waters thundering down high force as a youngster but I have always regarded the Tees as a wild and dangerous River, the Wear and the Tyne are much more gentle in comparison.
I was looking for suitable backing tracks for our moorland road drive and I came across this track which has a great video of its own, worth watching with the sound muted if you don't like John Denver, brilliant photography!!:
