Well have to put this one on too, I heard it on the radio the other day....Must have been Liza Tarbuck unless it was on the listeners choice of oldies at 3pm on Steve Wright.

Creativity/quirkiness where's it gone :?:

Needs to be listened to in the communal ambience of a full Pickled Egg Pub. 4'33" would be called "Mindfullness" these days!

Thought I had come across it somewhere.......

Its a John Lennon song, sung originally by Ringo Starr but no trace on youtube so I hand it over to Linda Ronstadt who does a good job of it.

Had the car radio on today out and about, nothing much of note. This was the best of the bunch, I enjoyed this nice little pop record, written by Alannah Currie and Tom Bailey, former Thompson Twins members.

A theme tune for tonight's quiz at The Pickled Egg:

The recorder is such a poorly appreciated instrument - I learned to play one mainly due to teachers arm-twisting.
Most see them as toys as they are usually the first instrument taught in school so are therefore kids toys.

This came up randomly and I was quite pleased with it, love the "Queen Of Sheba" and this was an interesting quirk.

I do have a very nice LP of baroque flute concertinos by Mr Vivaldi. And a CD of the same name but not the same pieces.
Although it is 'flute' music it is actually recorders used to play it.
So not really toys at all.
