Going back a bit, “Alexa, open Rain Sounds” just came in.
No, I haven't tried it - yet at least.

Tiny Tim singing "Tiptoe Through The Tulips" came up on "Killing Eve" and I looked it up, he was a bit of a sensation in the sixties.

Through that I discovered this, most unusual. The band members look familiar too.

Following the 633 Squadron I've been working through other great film and TV themes and I have come across a number of pieces which I find dramatic and atmospheric for the series they are for. Here is one such example:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

To finish my selections for tonight I found this version of Over the Rainbow to be really easy listening:

I have reclaimed my sitting room, I don't know why but have barely used it - previously it was as my son worked nights he would be disturbed but he bought his own house a year ago so no excuse.
The 'proper' stereo in there is amazing after such an absence as was listening to Mr Handel, Georgia Dagaki, Cowboy Junkies and currently a blast of Beethoven.

"The neighbours get treated to quality music!

Whether they like it or not"

Not really, they are fortunate to have virtual deadspace between the houses :)

I used to play a lot of Patti Smith and P J Harvey quite loudly. Turned it up louder than I would normally have it and when in to next door - the neighbours were great - and there was nothing to be heard.

These are ex-council houses so a bit of a surprise, but they were built in a period when the construction standards were raised significantly. They are far better than the private houses built at the same time.
It is very rare that I hear anything from either of my neighbours, they are not a noisy lot to begin with and it is only when they are DIY-ing with drills and hammers that anything at all is heard.

Nice to have good neighbours and we have been very fortunate on that score. I have asked them to let me know if they hear anything as they have a six year old that I would not like to disturb at bed-time.

Most of the stuff I listen to now is fairly quiet (Cowboy Junkies being a prime example) but the bass can be fairly pronounced.

As well as being the first of my DID choices I have just learned that this song generated a Geordie tribute to Rodney Marsh:

I will be starting a new thread at midnight tonight with a specific target to achieve in 24 hours to celebrate 75th anniversary of VE day tomorrow. I propose that we rename the FCF as the Fantastic Celebratory Forum for 24 hours to properly celebrate that joyous day in 1945, 75 years ago tomorrow. It will need as many people to contribute as possible to achieve the target of 75 relevant posts by midnight tomorrow night. So please join in with that and help the FCF celebrate properly!! :) :) :) :)
