When it comes to crowd singing, for me there is very little that comes close to Liverpool fans with their anthem. However this recording is different because it was made at the MCG in Australia and demonstrates how passion can travel: :) :) :)

and a banner with the County Durham lad on it, one of the most modest but genuine giants of the game.

The Pickled Egg Jukebox has a winter playlist......it is here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpFudDA ... NqEZ-gwOud

and the first song on it surprisingly (not) put up by yours truly is "River" from Joni Mitchell. Heard Ellie Goulding's cover of it on the car radio today, which wasn't bad at all, but if you know the song well, you only hear Joni's voice, and come up with probably an unfair comparison.

I was not aware of the winter playlist having not seen a winter on the FCF yet! :)
However there are three songs which always grab my attention at this time of year so I will create my own mini list here and propose inclusion in the main list if that is agreeable? :)

and a newer version of my all time favourite:

Added to every year, and old favourites dug out once more, and some not necessarily that winter-ey!

Seasonal sentimentality and melancholy and the odd dash of jollity and good cheer :-D

And a totally awesome climactic sax solo at the end of Dan Fogelberg's "Same Old Lang Syne"

I have now, thanks Steve, I knew about the biblical reference but not the 20th century references. Fascinating! :)

Sorry Steve, I got to the 8 minute mark and the voice broke up and I called it a day. Not for me that one :)

A line from one of his songs popped into my head.
Had that LP since it came out.

They just played this on the radio and I wondered whose made the greatest escape on the FCF?

Hats off to Lisa Tarbuck. I like some variety in the music coming out of the radio....

Prior to this fantastic track she played "Hold your Hand out you Naughty Boy" never heard that for ages and as for ever so lonely....yes have heard the dance version before but this for radio 2 was amazing!

and excellent drive home music selection from Lisa, including "The only living boy in New York" S&G, "My old Man" ID & the B, "Pump it up" EC "Higher Ground" SW and "A Windmill in Old Amsterdam" RH and many more :-D

and just for good measure here is "Hold Your Hand out you Naughty Boy" :-D
