At 6.47 in that is my only contribution to the school band.

The thing is Gibbo it seems to me that you may have missed out on an international music career so I thought you might like a second chance! It seems that there are great opportunities for aspiring maestros, have a look at this:

Watching that video reminded me of one of the many amazing things we saw on the trip - around 3 am we were going through Wisconsin and I was looking out the window, not wanting to miss anything, while STMBO slept in the upper bunk, when a freight train came the other way. Given that we were probably travelling at 50-60mph and the freight train 30-40 it astounded me that the passing lasted for ages and ages. Obviously I just wasn't prepared for the incredible length of the container trains which I have since discovered often have 200-250 container wagons !!! :) :)

"Guess I will spend my life in railway stations"....a very young looking ABBA
NewcastleFalcon wrote: 23 Sep 2017, 22:06 There's nothing like a good theme......

Spawned from a radio conversation with Simon Jenkins and his soon to be published Britains 100 Best Railway Stations.

First track I thought of was ABBA

The first track that always comes to my mind when someone says "railway station" is the following one, the station only gets one mention, but I get a mental picture of them sitting on the platform waiting for the train:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

A double whammy post here, a station for the theme and a name that car at 23 seconds! :-D

Do you know Kathy Chitty?

Kathy is mentioned by name twice in ‘America’ and the song ‘Homeward Bound’ is about returning from a gig in Widnes to see her in Essex. There is also ‘Kathy’s Song’

The DM did an article about her in 2014 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... llage.html

I'll slip in "America" as its a decent link to Micks going to look for America!

I didn't know Cathy Chitty at all but I do now thanks Neil, interesting read in the DM. So following on from the S & G and stations theme and back in the USA took me to, possibly, my favourite of all their "non single" tracks:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Right Mick, think I have found the car. The Reg would you believe, puts it between 1939 and 1943, ( the FXK bit). Has USA written all over the style so by process of elimination we get to a 1939 Buick. Exact model/spec difficult but something like a Buick Century.

We've been down the same route methinks. Having eliminated Hudson which was my off the cuff idea, I then got down to a choice between the 1930's Ford Converible Deluxe range and The Buicks. The closest I found was a 1938 Buick Phaeton Century so I think we have pegged it between us. I found matching the silver shape on the lower nose the hardest job but the Buick is definitely the closest, plus of course the one in the video may have beem customised to some extent. So I suggest we pronounce it to be the FCF opinion is: it is a 1936-42 Buick Century Phaeton Convertible built in the USA :-D
Sadly I have been confined to quarters now for Match of the Day so I am now using the phone which is not versatile enough for me to pursue anything else now. So I'll catch up with any developments in the morning. Night all!!
