Re: P.E.Jukebox your selections please
Sainsbury's today.....one of those cardboardy type temp displays full of new-old black vinyl albums about £16 ish each.
If I can recall on the stand the iconic covers of
Sgt Pepper, Who's Next, Brothers in Arms, Legend Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin IV, Tubular Bells, Never Mind the Bollocks, Hotel California
So I'll pull something out from today from that list. Who's next....Baba O'Riley.
If anyone cares to do a small amount of digging you will find the location used for the album cover.

Following the viaduct theme from POTD led me to this track:
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Wouts second appearance on the thread Gibbo here's a bit from the archives about him

NewcastleFalcon wrote: 30 Mar 2019, 21:33 Thanks for that post Gibbo, I enjoy a bit of finding out about new stuff so looked up the wiki page on our Wout.
A dutchman from Kent!REgards Neilhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wout_Steenhuis
"In May 1945, the day before the liberation of the Netherlands, Steenhuis's right elbow was shattered by a bullet in a battle with the Germans. He was unconscious for 4 days and awoke in a British military hospital to find that his arm had been set in such a way that he could never again play the guitar. Eventually he cajoled the busy surgeon into breaking the arm again and re-setting it so that he could return to music when he was discharged from the hospital."

Re: P.E.Jukebox your selections please
Sorry Steve, I didn't like that at all, apart from the soprano voice which is never a favourite of mine, I honestly thought the arrangement destroyed the song. maybe I'm too much of a traditionalist but for me that track is one where the original was so great it's best left alone!!

Try Bridge of Sighs-In this place. Probably a too little known classic. Awesome.

I agree that the original is unmatched but that one has grown on me too. I thought it was a valiant effort as she was only 12, had flown from Pittsburgh, it was the equivalent of four am for her and she was ankle deep in freezing cold water and full of cold.
For her next trick they suspended her 100' up, then lowered her to 30' singing in a made-up language that she learned before going on the show.
And she did it for no reward as it was a charitable show.

Sadly that performance won't grow on me simply because I do not like soprano singing, the notes literally give me an unpleasant feeling in my ears.myglaren wrote: 16 Oct 2019, 23:14

And so you should, she deserves both praise and admiration as a clearly outstanding talent.

I do agree she made a terrific job with a substandard arrangement of an untouchable song imho!! It would also appear that she is a great sport and selfless, perhaps if age mellows her voice I will be able to enjoy her too!!

Loved the guitar in that, but showing my ignorance here, I've never come across it before!!NewcastleFalcon wrote: 16 Oct 2019, 23:02 Try Bridge of Sighs-In this place. Probably a too little known classic. Awesome.

When you get "into" an artist, you just carry it with you all the time. Robin Trower very much one of my favourites, but saying that I dont know much outside the two classic albums he made in the seventies "Bridge of Sighs" which I would class as his masterpiece and "For Earth Below" not far behind. When you know every song, every word, every guitar break you dont really have to stray into the entire catalogue.
