Re: P.E.Jukebox your selections please
I am having trouble thinking of non Beatles tracks because they did so many great intros like Norwegian Wood, Here Comes the Sun and many more but I will resist and suggest the Eagles and Hotel California, an intro I nearly learned once but decided it was too tricky for me!!:

For number 9 it has to be one of the greatest guitarists playing for a famous geordie about a great city :
(Not to mention a brilliant track too)

Great selection for number ten Neil. Well I can't think of a better intro to finish the evening with so my number 11 has to be:

Re: P.E.Jukebox your selections please
Normally I have little time for these "Top" lists , especially coming out of the USA but I have enjoyed the series of "Top 20 Intros" put together by Rick Beato. Did the Electric Guitar, and Acoustic Guitar ones I'll even do the Drum one as well, but here's the keyboard one.
I think whether the selections are your particular taste or not, you get the flavour of why artists like the Beatles, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Billy Joel, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Simon and Garfunkel etc etc are such giants of popular music.

Re: P.E.Jukebox your selections please
Just watched the 20 greatest intros videos except the drum one. No doubt for me The Beatles have the most brilliant ones, Simon & Garfunkel have the most melodic but Procal Harem have the best combined!! I just wish in the guitar videos he had found words other than "coming in at number *" to introduce the tracks. It did get irritating!!
However overall well worth watching. Thanks Neil!

Re: P.E.Jukebox your selections please
Some quirky P.E. Jukebox tracks got an airing on the drum intros............one on the Pickled Egg Jukebox 10 Morse Code tracks being YYZ from Rush. YYZ being the call sign of Toronto Pearson International Airport, and banged out throughout the song in morse.

Re: P.E.Jukebox your selections please
So there was I (digging this hole, hole in the ground.....sorry sidetracked by that phrase!) minding my own business practising the intro to Ticket to Ride, well I say practising - trying to work it out would be more accurate -, when back from her WI meeting comes STMBO. "I suppose you have been wasting your time with that all evening" came her opening gambit while putting the over cooked muffins she had in the bin. "Indeed I have" came my reposte. I'll spare you the rest but the result was me advising her of our delve into the world of intros and she asked to hear what we had come up with. I ran through the thread including the 20 best videos and she was quite impressed!! Aah!, I thought, brownie points on the horizon!! No. of course not, "How could you spend an evening doing intros without including*************?" said she. I had no answer so I promised to add it, so here it is the best intro ever according to STMBO so who are us mere mortals to argue?:
