Very much a Marmite performer. Best one I ever saw live.

This has me conflicted. I bought one of her CDs years ago and have never been entirely comfortable with it but there is an indefinable something that I can't quite put my finger on.
Italian name but she is Icelandic (and had to fight for the name, forbidden in Iceland at the time).

I'm not sure but she seems to go slightly flat on descending notes, but for me that is one track which has never been covered better than Art Garfunkel did it. :)

Returning to the "lost" theme, lets not forget the patrol, and I don't mean the Scifi film:

Used by many TV producers since Johnny Keating recorded it on the flip side of the Z Cars theme, now used by both Watford and Everton for their walkout tune! 8-)

Having just caught up on the EV Thread and got depressed I realised one of the other advantages of ICE often forgotten which is ably demonstrated here by the most expensive orchestra ever assembled:

I bet that woke you up!!! :-D

Listening to a hotch-potch of stuff on YouTube, much as usual, and this came up.

For years I have looked for a Ry Cooder piece that was featured in a film I was sort-of watching while half asleep, with Rosanna Arquett in it.
I'm sure that this must be it. Not even sure what the film was to watch it and confirm.

Dont think Rosanna Arquett was in the film Paris Texas Steve....couldnt find her on the cast list on wiki.

Excellent stuff from RY Cooder. Noticed on the autoplay list your selection was followed up by a collaboration between Ry Cooder and V.M. Bhatt......A Meeting by the River.

Its quirky enough in the traditions of the Pickled Egg Jukebox

No, she wasn't but she was in a film that had music by Ry Cooder that was either this or very similar - it was at least twenty years since I saw the film.
I'm wondering if it could have been "The Wrong Man" - stuck it in my Amazon basket so will likely find out eventually.

I am guessing you have some kind of connection Mick. Enjoyed it nice voice and Does her own stufff too which is always a good thing. I have a guitar and do enjoy it. Still learning after a couple of years to play a couple of Steely Dan songs from YouTube tutorials (peg and Josie from their album AJa

I would love to do Larry Carlton’s intro to this, but miles off it yet

Regards Neil

It’s one of the great intros, Post some of your best intros up for us to enjoy

If it flags I will dig out Status Quo s and Robin Trower s finest intros

You are right, as ever, she is a friend's daughter and trying to get into it professionally but a) she's heavily involved in spiritualism and healing which takes up time and b) there are loads of equally talented youngsters around and it means being in the right place at the right time!! She has played in pubs and clubs and even been to Australia chasing her dream. She reminds me of Shirley Abicare!!

I too have a guitar but mine is classical so Steely Dan is not an option :) however this thread has encouraged me to get it out of the wardrobe and I've managed a diabolical but recognisable version of Greensleeves so far!! As you say its fun trying and I don't really care how bad it sounds :-D

One day we may even get an FCF jam session!!
