Re: The Pickled Egg Jukebox-29 tracks left! (171/200)
Just had a snoop at the Jukebox and see Rick Astley is in there
That was supposed to be a bit of sarcasm
Spotted Steely Dan too.
This isn't meant for inclusion:
Rosie has quite an history, some of it tragic but gave rise to her album Zazu, from which the above are taken.
Produced by Gary Katz and Includes contributions from Donald Fagen & Walter Becker.
She later hooked up with Jeff Lynn and became a backing singer for ELO, may still be for all I know.
I borrowed Zazu from the library (LP) as I liked the cover
Bought the CD

Thanks for finding that Jim, just the type of thing I was looking for. That is absolutely perfect! Has to be on the juke box!CitroJim wrote:Here's a drinking song Sticky will appreciate....
Grew up with this one
Where else would you find the line "There's dung all o'er the taters, halfway up your gaiters...."
Great for a sing-a-long reaction

Re: The Pickled Egg Jukebox-19 tracks left! (181/200)
Up to this post there are 188 selections out of 200
Are there any glaring omissions from the list? Any genre of music that needs to be represented? Up to now as you can see from Rick Astley sneaking through pretty much what has been posted up has ended up on the list. With Steve's multiple selections I have tried to put up at least one example from the selections.
Last 12 selections up for grabs....
and one has gone now with...
bit of pop from 10cc
regards Neil

Fiona Apple
Amazing woman/musician/singer.
From the album "The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do"
I think of this one as "Farm Butter"
Not double tracked, that's her sister singing with her.
Love her 'instrument' made from copper pipe and gaffer tape
From her album "When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He'll Win the Whole Thing 'fore He Enters the Ring There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might so When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You'll Know That You're Right."
Audience are animals and she does a very polished version in a lovely red dress - that I can't find
I would dearly love to see her live. Someone said she would never come to the UK as she was terrified of flying but apparently she has been here.

Re: The Pickled Egg Jukebox-last 10 tracks needed!
Maybe be a bit "over-appled" if the final 10 selections are consumed
Happy for one to be selected at random? eg This from Fiona
and another from Maude
leaves 8 more tracks before the Wurlitzer is full. Any as of now no Elvis, Michael Jackson, Madonna, the Kinks, The Beatles, Oasis, Blur, Genesis, Van Morrison, Elton John, The Who, Free, Kraftwerk, Bee Gees, U2, Sting, Jimmy Shand, ELO, Frank Sinatra, or the St Winifreds school Choir....etc....etc
regards Neil
Ps Frank's in now thanks Sticky!

Re: The Pickled Egg Jukebox-last 10 tracks needed!
They are only suggestions Neil - I did (do) get a bit carried away thoughNewcastleFalcon wrote:Maybe be a bit "over-appled" if the final 10 selections are consumed

I have my own 'Jukebox' - an mp3 player piped through a Sonab stereo that plays 24/7 in the dining room.
Fiona, Heather Nova, Jackie Evancho, Neil Young, Donovan, Van Morrison and Georgia Dagaki all feature heavily on it.
Fiona is very special and I spend an inordinate amount of time watching her YouTube videos.
Maud wasn't meant to be included, just an item of interest. Compared to Fiona I don't think much of her. Fiona is crazy (in a good way) but immensely talented.
Ps Frank's in now thanks Sticky!NewcastleFalcon wrote: leaves 8 more tracks before the Wurlitzer is full. Re: The Pickled Egg Jukebox-last 10 tracks needed!
It is finished! Thanks to all contributors. The Pickled Egg Jukebox is easily accessed just by a google search or youtube search using "Pickled Egg Juke Box"
Or the link is here The Pickled Egg Juke Box
Track 198 Rock Lobster B52's
Track 199 Love Shack B52's
and its the way the cookie has crumbled
George Michael makes his first and only appearance at Track 200 with "A different Corner". A song about rendom chances, fairly appropriate to refelect the assembly of 200 varied tracks, obviously not all to everyones taste.
Best way to use it Put it on a shuffle.....in the background, and be constantly surprised by what comes on next. If it is "Day of the Eagle" by Robin Trower its going to wake you up even if you dont like it!
Wish my laptop didn't have such tinny useless speakers....I'll have to change that.
Cheers
Neil
If you want to keep on sharing stuff even though the PE Juke box is closed for now....carry on.
