Me and Mrs Bobins saw PSB down at Pompey a couple of years ago. They were jolly good :) If you've never come across them before then most of their output is based on samples of old films and/or public service broadcasting footage.

It is not supposed to be but this is the 'spaciest' song I know. I imagine huge interstellar ships using solar sails to traverse the galaxies.*
Not the words but the guitar. I have no idea how they do that and haven't heard anything like it anywhere else.

*probably because I was reading the James Blish 'Cities In FLight' series when this came out. Still have the LP but it's mono. Have the CD too of course.

Saw Kraftwerk doing this complete with 3D specs at a festival a few years ago. You'd struggle to think how 3D specs would work when you're standing in a field - but they did and it was excellent :)

number 2 for me Steve. years since I have heard Judy Collins. She did at least one of Joni's, "Both Sides Now" that I remember her best for.

Now linking on Judy to Judie

This always has an atmospheric emotional melancholic feel

Always loved the Judie Tzuke album that comes from - Welcome To The Cruise.

And now to an obscure Judee - from a session on the OGWT complete with an introduction from Whispering Bob.

Hang on...I am going to have to put an intermediary track in to take me from Judy to the Alan Parsons Project

so it has to be Judy Teen written by Steve Harley and produced by the aforementioned Alan Parsons

No connection with whats gone before but here's Sheryl Crow with probably her most recognisable song, and for close followers of "Notices what have you Spotted", a song which mentions "Bud" a few times in the lyrics.
