Re: P.E.Jukebox-your selections please
I thought it was the Isley Brothers. Watching a fairly contrived programme about "Yacht Rock" . West Coast USA music of the 70's. Liked every track so far but as with all of these things far too much talking when you just want the tracks to play on.
Joni even made an appearance with about 20 seconds of Chelsea Morning. Hall and Oates doing their bit at the mo, but Steely Dan are on their way according to the trail!
Regards Neil

Just seen a hymn to Joe Lucas
On a lighter note:
I wanted to buy one for my youngest grandson a while back after seeing Johanna Söderström (First Aid Kit) playing one but they were so expensive and would likely ended up as an ornament.

Does that Megadeath stuff really qualify as music?

Re: P.E.Jukebox-your selections please
It certainly wouldn't qualify for any playlist of mine, I was just amused at the title and association with Lucas electrical products of old.
Not a metal fan but I do play a bit of Nightwish occasionally - Symphonic metal - mainly for the singer Tarja Turunen - they are Finnish, and Within Temptation,* who are Dutch.
Collaboration of the two singers, Tarja with Within Temptation (Sharon del Adel)
Also The Commander In Chief (Berit Hagen, Norwegian) but more her classical output than her metal contributions.
She's also a bel canto trained by her mother, an opera singer, her manager and videographer.
*Hadn't heard of them until my favourite singer covered that song - memories (and did it better IMO).

Off the wall enough for the PE Jukebox? Dusty in German!
Is there a "best" version? Try Lars Lönndahl if you like a bit of Swedish and a bit Bert Weedon play in a day guitar backing!
One of the "New Statesman's" Top 20 Political songs...what others would fit into that category?
Regards Neil

Where Have all The Flowers Gone?
Quite emotional!
But the best by far:
I still regret loaning out my S?awa Przybylska double album, never to be seen again.

Posted this a while ago.
In the interim I've been playing Mazzy Star quite a bit. Just bought three albums

The singer, Hope Sandoval, is exceptionally shy and has been known to sing with her back to the audience, almost always has the stage darkened so she is barely visible.
Someone labelled her The Princess Of Darkness

One where she isn't in the shadows:
I love the way she just stands and sings, no gyrating around whatsoever. So demure.
It has been said of her that offstage she smokes like a chimney, drinks like a fish and swears like a docker.

See the Moon Landings thread for where this sprang from....but an eclectic atmospheric "space age" addition to the Pickled Egg Jukebox in its own right, with time ticking way as its rhythm

Re: P.E.Jukebox-your selections please
The Brian Eno & John Cale album "Wrong Way Up" is fabulous and on the strength of that bought some more Eno stuff - I did like his contributions to Roxy's output.
The rest is highly disappointing.
On the other hand I think that Mike Oldfield does an excellent job here:
I was listening to "Crystal Clear" for the rocket engine sound for the electric car engine noise.
I used to have an old Marantz receiver - only around 40W RMS IIRC, paired with Dynatron speakers bought for £4 the pair at a flea market and it always sounded magnificent through that.
Despite many 'upgrades' to far better equipment, that particular bit has never been as impressive.
