Re: The Pickled Egg Jukebox
Love Vangelis - most of his work anyway.
The track that follows the awful Lill Lindfors track above, By Björn J:son Lindh wakes memories - I had a couple of his LPs - Ramadan being the best one.
No tracks from Ramadan there though.
He was Lill Lindfors' arranger.
Will have a listen to Rosetta later.

Re: The Pickled Egg Jukebox
Todays random link....
The Elon's Rocket thread got a reference to the 1961 Film "The Day the Earth Caught Fire".
Not much of a soundtrack but a smattering of "beatnik" music supplied by none other than the chap responsible for this...
Its not that good, but became in the eyes of the courts at least one of the key bits of evidence to attribute the authorship of a very famous and iconic tune.
Regards Neil

Anything caught your ears today?
This piece caught mine on Alexander Armstong’s Programme on classic FM.
very peaceful and soothing
Not the same version as the radio, but maybe even better

Soft Cell in the news today, but had to jump in with a "Its not even their song" rant at the telly.
Not even Gloria Jones' from 1964 although she had the first hit with it.....written by Ed Cobb

Oh and auto play took me to Nancy Sinatra

The first cut is the deepest...top quality song, and you've gone back to pretty much the original. I find out from Wiki written by Cat Stevens.

Speaking of Cat Stevens - who never really impressed me that much, other than the above mentioned, though not his version, and this:

Re: The Pickled Egg Jukebox
This was on the radio in the car tonight. Only KD Lang track that I would recognise would be Constant Craving, but this on first hearing took my interest. Heard a faint touch of Joni, and just a smidgeon of Steely Dan in the orientalish jazzy sounding breaks.

Re: The Pickled Egg Jukebox
Off to investigate youtube see if there's any tracks on there for "The Temperance Movement".
Chap I was talking to today...had driven up from the Brecon Beacons and only hit bad weather when he got over the Tyne. He's a fan of the "Temperance Movement" and has seen them 5 times, and was hoping that his tickets would beat the bad weather. They play Newcastle University on 4th March.
So what do they sound like? Give me a couple of minutes.

Re: The Pickled Egg Jukebox
Its the old "Out of Town" theme tune again without the accompanying clippy clop of the horses hooves percussion!
