What makes this song appropriate for today :?:

Regards Neil

A nice link :-D It's the shortest song to reach number 1 in the UK, and today is the shortest day....... though technically the day is the same length it's the daylight hours that are the shortest

Yes spot on! Of course both tracks are totally inappropriate for residents of the Southern Hemisphere :)

The longest single ever to be number 1 would have been more appropriate for today for them :-D

Anyone curious :?:

Go on, shove up a few questions, see if we cant stir the punters up into a bit of a grey matter work out!

No rules make it up as we go along, but it would be nice for participation's sake if answerers could reciprocate with a few questions themselves to keep the kettle boiling.

Who's going to start it off.

Well let me be the first. Its been a long time since A-Level Chemistry....there's a time limit, and what you may think is surprisingly easy will be more difficult than you think and you will miss out some obvious ones.

I got 41 out of 118

Periodic Table quiz

Honestly...it's marginally entertaining give it a go :-D

Me and Mrs Bobins managed 69 - but she likes the periodic table.... whereas I only just about got a CSE in chemistry

I think a periodic table influenced Pickled Egg Jukebox might be in order in the New Year :)

I reckon that will take a bit of beating well done but did you miss some obvious ones like iron or tin!

I knew 4 of them had been named after that little town in Sweeden but I couln't remember one of them despite my postings on POTD. Got Strontium though, probably the only element to be named after a place in the UK.

Thanks for taking part!

We got two of the Swedish ones - as a direct result of being educated down at the P.E. :-D
The only annoyingly obvious one we missed was number 22. We didn't do too well on the Lanthanide series though - but I think we can be excused that :-D

Quite a catalogue of movie soundtracks for Patrick Doyle inc Sense and Sensibility and Henry V, but probably a little known french Film "Une Femme Francaise" gets the nod today.

Why?

Well according to wiki the Current Subject of our latest Whatsthisthen? made an appearance in that film....

But its too obscure for IMCDB to find it!
