Indeed so, I'm going to have to dig out my Japan discs and maybe some YMO vinyl and give them a whirl this weekend :) Long time no play :-D

Why not ? Although a stop at the intermediate station makrked Sylvian / Sakamoto might be beneficial :-D

I think this is one of those occasions you discover a hugely pioneering band that you've never heard of. Incredibly innovative in electronic music, many muso's regard as second only to Kraftwerk in influence.
Not sure of their 'best tracks', but their first releases - Firecracker, Yellow Magic, and Computer Game bring back the best memories for me :)

EDit just have to put in your suggested interim stop. If you enjoy David Sylvian's voice which I do its an absolute treat!

Well November the 5th coming up, the only logical choice has to be Firecracker..

They even made it onto the iconic "Soul Train"

Couldn't resist Sakamoto's orchestral version from the film. Rather fine for a Sunday morning.

Lovely stuff Bobins, could well have made it to the PE-Jukebox:The Piano theme, as could this.

The link is "The Piano" of course but in a very different form, from the "World Champion" old-time piano player Adam Swanson.....

The PE Landlord is contemplating giving him an audition for the Sunday lunchtime spot.

I think the P.E's piano might need a tune up and oil change before Mr Swanson gets his fingers on it. It's a long time since it's been played with such vim and vigour and I'm not sure it'll be up to it in its current state

Can't remember how I got there but I was perusing a user submitted article just yesterday on Geograph about Pleasure Piers and came across this
