The Pickled Egg Jukebox-10 Train Tracks
There's nothing like a good theme......
Spawned from a radio conversation with Simon Jenkins and his soon to be published Britains 100 Best Railway Stations.
First track I thought of was ABBA
Loads of others...join in!
Regards Neil

Jelly Roll Morton telling the tale of "I'm Alabama bound" (by train of course!)
Gentle blues with a soft piano accompaniment

A few from me to be getting on with -
The utterly glorious "From a Late Night Train - The Blue Nile" with a not too shabby user submitted video
A rather dodgy performance on Top Of The Pops of "Under Your Thumb - Godley and Creme"
Flash and the Pan - Waiting for a Train from the early 80s.... anyone remember them ?
I also dug out a couple from Robyn Hichcock.... but he's not to everyone's taste
Trams of Old London, and I Often Dream of Trains.

A song about the London to Brighton train journey, with an only very slightly dated appearance on TOTP from The Who
And now for something completely different : Slow Train to Dawn - The The (with a much younger Neneh Cherry in the video)

A bit tenuous but there is a train

Myléne spent a full day strapped to the front of the locomotive charging around.

Pickled Egg Jukebox-Track of the Day!
Train tracks run their course? So many to choose from but a nice selection from Bobins and Steve.
Enjoyed a couple of Samantha Fish tracks "Gone For Good" and "Runaway" rapidly becoming favourites of mine, and no doubt posted up by Steve here before.
Great stuff but Track of the Day goes to a strange pairing heard on a radio Newcastle Show.
One is a converstaion piece for the punters.....I mean, who hasn't had the pleasure of, or come across a "World of Mantovani" record
Yes its an instrumental but what springs to mind Puckled Egg Pinters...
Regards Neil
PS the other was Vangelis Love theme from Blade Runner

They asked me how I knew, It was Esso Blue
I of course replied, with other brands you buy,
Smoke gets in your eyes.

Re: Pickled Egg Jukebox-Track(s) of the Day....
Samantha has altered her style.
Here's a couple of examples:
Her old stuff is still great though.
Love her expressions and the guitar playing is superb.
Been listening to a great deal of Ana Popović and she is very good but Samantha has something indefinable that just sounds more musical.
Sam is on in Kieghley in November, wish I could go and see her live - I reckon her live performances are better than the studio albums.
