Re: "The Pickled Egg"-Help needed-more jukebox singles pleas
And on a Parisien theme another virtual double A-sider from Joni
"In France the kiss on main street" , from "The Hissing of Summer Lawns"
And "A Free Man in Paris" from "Court and Spark"
I'm going to have to ration myself, I could fill the 200 slots quite easily just with my favourite Joni Mitchell tracks never mind anything else. I'm happy she has a couple on now! Course if anyone else has their personal favourites from Joni, then it would be rude not to put them in!
regards Neil

Alpha Blondy added to the mix, 72 tracks now so a shuffled playlist brings up some nice surprises now.
Just google Pickled Egg Jukebox and up she comes number 1 on a world wide search.

An absolutely delightful lady, Eleftheria Arvanitaki (best name ever - except perhaps Ambrosia Parsley)
Meno Ektos
Tzivaeri
Very long intro.
First heard this live at The Sage in Gateshead, performed by the gorgeous Athena Andreadis.

Patti Smith described this as "The Silver Peanut"
I wasn't familiar with Greek music and this had me in tears despite not understanding a single word.
Eleftheria does it far better though!

Re: "The Pickled Egg"-Help needed-more jukebox singles pleas
Mylène Farmer
Dernier Sourire (Not Innamoramento)!
Innamoramento but they have removed the best clips
Avant Que L'Ombre.
That is a curtain of falling water with images projected on it.
This is on my most expensive CD/DVD, £116 Limited Edition and certificated boxed set (usually changes hands for >£1,000)
XXL (Ix-ix- eeeeeeeeeel
)
She hired the railway and locomotive for two days to shoot this. Spent the whole of one day on the front of the loco.
Les Mots
Bleu Noir
She has made the most incredible videos - short films really, most of which are now unavailable.
Fortunately I have them all on DVD
Almost all anyway.
There is one that combines elements of Terminator and 5th Element that has escaped

Wow Steve , never heard of any of the artists but thats a good thing, I'll try and sift through what you have posted up and put them in the old Wurlitzer, in even pairs of course with A and B sides.

Re: "The Pickled Egg"-Help needed-more jukebox singles pleas
Don't feel obliged to add them all - they are more for perusal to get a feeling for the artist.
A few more to come too
Some are not 'Juke Box' material really and some that are are unavailable in the UK.
Like Jackie Evancho - she is wonderful but her songs - most of them, wouldn't lend themselves to this purpose.
She does have some superb covers - With Or Without You is one such that is restricted at the moment.
Perhaps this might suffice - originally Great Big World and Christina Aguilera (a neighbour of Jackie's)
She is still only 14!

Re: "The Pickled Egg"-Help needed-more jukebox singles pleas
Borderline. There are probably more covers of this than anything else and most are very weak.
This one and Elisa's are among the better ones.
A Britney Spears cover, and an improvement on the original.
Listen without watching first. It's a bit of a shock.
Hmmm, damnit, that's not going to work
Just so you get the idea with this singer:
No lip-synching, no autotune. She resolutely refuses any electronic enhancements or cheats.
While it is the high register that grabs your attention, her lower register is just as developed, pure and clear.
She was 10 there! She can hear any song three times and then sing it - any language.

Although maybe not.
A deliberately subdued version in honour of the sombre nature of the occasion.
Re: "The Pickled Egg"-Help needed-more jukebox singles pleas
Can we stick a bit of Caro Emerald on there please? I think she's fantastic..

Seen these a couple of times at The Sage - amazing and they carry on without a break for two and a half hours.

Yes but this is no ordinary Juke Box.....this is the Pickled Egg Juke Boxmyglaren wrote:Don't feel obliged to add them all - they are more for perusal to get a feeling for the artist.

So, for now a quadruple of greeks, a double of french, and a double of Jackie Evancho is on the playlist. Bit like me with Joni, you could probably fill all 200 slots with your Jacqui Evancho favorites Steve.
Sticky, Mike nice selections duly noted, and ready to be put on. I would like at least a couple of tracks from Carlos Santana when I get round to it, Led Zep haven't made an appearance yet, and not a hint of disco, rap, electronica, mowtown, soul, funk to mention although I can think of some good examples. No jimmy shand either...a good juke box tune should cause a stirring amongst the assembled punters, and a bit of toe tapping, singing along, head nodding, synchronous supping, foot stomping (come on someone suggest the Brothers Johnson) and in exceptional circumstances even a bit of dancing

regards Neil
