One from the Wallander series, not the English mess, the original.

Thoroughly enjoyed that piece Steve thanks and I have to advise others to watch the video in full screen mode, despite my general dislike of science fiction I thought that was put together very well!! :)

You may also like this then.
While Nimrod is quite majestic, this is rather sad.

Not so struck with that one. Solo violin tends to knock on the ceiling of my frequency tolerance and the choir at the end breached it, so a bit off putting for me. I thought parts of the video could have been filmed in the deep ocean with various choral growths. Overall a 6/10 for me against Nimrod's 8 ! :)

Reminded of this when the Riu Paradise Hotel was mentioned.
First heard this played by John peel, in 1979, performed by an ensemble called 'Processional'. Never found it by them though.

A Spanish Christmas song, apparently,

My late wife always said that that was a 'sad little ditty'
This is too.

Had a struggle remembering the title and had to dig out the CDs and found that I have fifteen of them. Actually fourteen as I seem to have two copies of "The Black Rider".

Tom Waits is someone that I always feel I should listen to for my own educational benefit. But I haven't managed that yet. :(

Some of his songs, like those of Bob Dylan, are better done by someone else, like this one.

Original

That said, Holly Cole's covers of most things improve them. She does a lot of Tom Waits covers.

I would really like to like this crew. They keep popping up and I have to say that the name intrigues me.
Sadly my main reason for wanting to like them is Ellie Rowsell, who looks wonderful in a girl next door way, but mainly as many of her photo's show her scowling and giving "F Right Off" looks and not the sweet smiles we are so used to.

Ironic that the song is called Smile

Unfortunately it just seems like a lot of noise.
