Dead on the money for the hose size too. I did notice the hose gets thicker about a foot after the join, when it meets the subframe, im guessing it has a sleeve due to its proximity to the elements?

It does indeed :-D I've known the inner leak into the outer before now and that can make a leak very hard to pin down as the leak origin can be a long way from where it appears...

Is there anything you don't know? ;)

Last thing, theres a rubber Y shaped adaptor near the passenger wheel, while tinkering today it was looking a little worn. Are these easily available from citroen?

chinkostu wrote:thats an idea. would need a good few inches of metal hose though, is it usual to be able to order by length? i assume it would need flanges/ ferrules (what on earth are they called? the nobbly bits!) too to stop it simply sliding off?

i do not usually add/create any nobbly bits as the rubber againgst the metal with hose clamps fitted are usually enough on the pipe,

Can you pop a picture of it up please?

I think I know what it is but to be sure a picture would be valuable. Sounds like it's the strut return and a common enough failure point. Easy to replace and still very much available.

Ahh! Is it a little Y-Piece with quite small diameter hoses attached? If so then that's just the leakage return from the HC connecting into the main leakage return circuit back to the LHM reservoir..

You may find one intended for windscreen washer hose or even a fish tank will do the job... Check whatever you use for LHM resistance though...
