I've given up wearing my lycra, and I'll tell you something, I get a lot more space given to me and respect from other road users. I don't actually go any slower than I did with lycra and a helmet, but I've not been beeped at and no one's driven too close to me since I stopped wearing it.

Thanks Gibbo, I find old photographs/adverts/magazine articles/newspaper articles fascinating. Just doing a quick search today I found an old image from the 1930's of an old garage from my village I remember from my youth in the 60's just lying around the internet. I had an image of the petrol pump hoses being tied up and dangling over the pavement. Quick search and there it was! Posted it up on Jim's thread about his "New Garage" in Milton Keynes!

....One of the little pleasures of going to somewhere different used to be the changing livery of the bus companies.

All right Arriva buses these days are two-tone but they are all over the place, as are stagecoach. It was nice to see the yellow and white buses tootling up and down the Conwy valley in amongst the national corporates.

Even a bit of open-toppage to enjoy

Reminds me of a badly made egg banjo* :-D

*- Two points to the first person to correctly describe why they're called egg banjos :) :)

Saw this clearly roadworthy example of what, I have no idea parked in a garden near Staines.

Clearly roadworthy as it had wheels and the driveway entrance had been properly modified to allow it to get in..

Because ARRSE (not for the faint of heart or easily offended).
But probably
It was supposed to have gotten its name when a GI made himself one of these egg sandwiches, and when he bit into it, the yolk exploded and dripped onto his shirt, causing him to whisk of the drops with his fingers like strumming a banjo.

...and this is a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Bicolore...

and a strange co-incidence in that its the second appearance of the day of this model.....its "on-display" engine compartment behind the glass cover made it into this thread

'twas always two tone in the trade right back to the days of the black & red, black and blue black, and green pre war Morris Eights.

Nope, not really :( It's not the colour, which is lovely actually, I just don't find any love for such vehicles.. They do precisely nothing for me...
