Ugh, just reminded me I've got the dentist next week...filling roughly the size of Texas fell out of the other upper wisdom tooth (partner to the one that was pulled a month or so back) last week. Expecting it to be removed as well. Officially Not Looking Forward To It (tm).

Thinking of the van eating bulbs, have you checked the charging voltage, and that the light units are secure? Those are the two most obvious likely things to make it eat bulbs I'd think. Not a 24V van running 12V lamps is it? Found that on a bus before...

I've had the whole headlamp out for a good inspection. Time won't allow further investigation, even checking the charging voltage. The garage can do their magic and sort it out for me. I've been hit with a whirlwind of broken stuff here at the moment and anything not dangerous is bottom of the list.

Sorry for the appalling reminder.

That looks a very useful little device James, almost tempted myself to get one of those.

Likewise, it'd be a lot neater to have a couple of USB sockets hardwired to an ignition live. We currently have to remember to pull SWMBO's Betty Boop USB adaptor out of the lighter socket when we park up or it just stays on in the Xantia. 206 not a problem as it switches off with the ignition. Interested to hear what you think of it when it arrives.

Yes, don't all rush out and buy them. Cheap things like that are either crap or acceptable. I'll take the plunge and let you know. If it's any good I'll 3d print an insert. Plans will be available for free or the part for cost which I imagine will be sub £5.

Noticed nsf wheel is getting low, another bloody screw. Fuming now, stupid workers just throw stuff anywhere. The yards been cleared several times but looking around there's many screws scattered again. Major kick off time, they've left tools everywhere as well so I'm going to treat them like kids until they grow up.

I think that can be changed by moving a fuse.
Not 100%.
Hopefully someone has a better memory than me.

What gets to me with the 12v socket is it doesn't fit the majority of adaptors without removing the ashtray. Call me ocd but that annoys me.

Work paid my expenses so I'm a step closer to fixing the car. I passed the record shop today and I couldnt resist buying an album. I went for Jeff Buckley Mystery White Boy. I think I'm going to buy a new album every month or 2 now rather than the cheap bootsale ones. I have a reasonable collection and I'm convinced the new ones sound better. They are a lot thicker as well. I shall test my theory by buying something I already have an old copy of next, probably brothers in arms.

Get a few old broken hard drives.....break open, Hot glue the magnets onto a piece of 2x2 wood and a bit of string each end.....walk the area picking up every bit of metal and loose screw.......it is frightening what comes up !

Actually I have a duff HDD, I've seen your magnet stick and it's good. I will still have the culprits spend Friday morning on their hands and knees sorting it out first then I'll go over it on Saturday. I'm fed up of not being listened to. They nearly blew up the water pump today, left it on for 4 hours as I was out and they don't give a crap, it's max 30mins or the pump overheats, tanks full and overflowing after 20mins. Got roughly 3000 trees and shrubs to water, how do we do that with no water? I need a holiday, can't take managing idiots much longer.

I've ordered the usb device.
Don't have the energy to go looking for a 12v source right now.
Hoping the electric seat control wires (which my car has) will have a 12v ignition switched live.

Going to lower the drivers seat in the same manner as Alasdair did when I fit it.

Thanks Jim. I have every intention of being ok tomorrow so I can catch up my hours. They'll be plenty to do. I can see from my window that despite clear instructions the joblist is being ignored in favour of easier work.

Certainly am. I can't take time off so after 5pm or a brief visit in the daytime (flexible lunch break). Theres a clutch cable and a park bicycle stand here for you. Don't let me forget.
