I think the no dodgy plates algorithm goes like this.

1. Has anyone complained?
yes = Recall and halt, No = Take money and move to 2.

2. Go back to 1.

I also saw a Dacia Sandero that had a plate which spelled Trout, can't recall the exact numbers. Fishmongers car?

They've always had a rule about not releasing some such as those containing BUM, SEX and GOD... T1TTYS possibly was never released as I doubt S41TTY ever was...

Also, back in the early days, BF, as originally allocated to Dorset, was seen to be outrageous! All vehicles with BF on their plates were forced to re-register. The Ormonde motorbike that originally wore BF1 received Y5 in replacement. Sadly the bike lost this number a few years ago and now wears a non-authentic age-related number...

I have never determined just what was so outrageous about BF in 1905...

Plates with 666 in them have variously been released and then not released. Some say vehicles with 666 in them suffer some odd happenings...

Yes, if anyone can shed light on BF I'd appreciate it... It's been bugging me for years now...

All I can think, and I really have in the last ten years or so, is that it stood for 'Bloody Fool'... I guess that would have been sufficiently outrageous in those days...

I had a good objective look at the car this evening.
I've decided that the coin holders are going to be modified into 2 x usb sockets for phone charging.
I also designed a bracket to mount my phone over the center air blower holes. Well partially anyway as I still want cold air. My phone overheats when used as sat nav and freezes so it seems like the ideal place. I can't tolerate things in my line of view when driving so can't use a window sucker cradle. I'll have it 3d printed and see how well it works.

Tomorrow I'm going to remove both radiator fans and strip the motors for rebrushing. I might as well make use of this off the road time and clear a few niggles while I can.

One of our school buses wore TKS666T. Bedford of some description, Plaxton Supreme III body if I remember rightly. Possibly Supreme IV.

Two of the drivers wouldn't go near it. Funnily enough it let us down one day - when something in the engine bay caught fire. You've never seen a coach empty that fast.

Fire was out before it even took hold, but we never saw that one again. GIB7513 and STA380R took back over usual duties. Until they bought a Van Hool Alizee...on a Mk I B10M chassis...body a good few tonnes too heavy for it! Goodness that thing was slow.
Current fleet:
07 Volvo V70 SE D5, 88 Renault 25 Monaco, 85 Sinclair C5, 84 Trabant 601S, 75 Rover 3500, 73 AC Model 70.
