I don't really understand why some people are having so much trouble installing Diagbox - Version 7.15 that I have provided the download link to has worked on every machine I've tried to install it on first time
Same here Simon. I've used the version on your link on 4 or 5 different machines now and never had a single problem. I've installed it on XP Pro, Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit, Win 7 Starter on a atom-powered Asus netbook, my old HP desktop, my last Dell Inspiron using VirtualBox and the same with my current Toshiba.

The disc I got with the kit was useless.

I reckon that's the answer, then.
We're all used to stuff we buy being of merchantable quality and fit for purpose.
When we're sold something that isn't, we assume it's our own inepitude that's the cause of the trouble.
I'm not going to try again with my current laptop, as the HDD is over 90% full and very slow, to the point of being unusable with Diagbox installed.
I'll get another when funds allow... after renewing my trade insurance, taxing the two cars we're keeping, paying next years preliminary tax and building a chimney in the house. So not tomorrow, then, but hopefully before my annual appointment with the other great rip-off merchant in the red suit!

I'll agree about 7 being easier to install......

Quiet w/e so as you do..'why not update something that was working...'

Lexia working OK but car is an 09 C5, Diagbox has more 'toys' right?
7 installed straight away, had to input VIN manually so knew something not quite right but no dialogue with car, interface presumably a 5.29 or below version?
Actia shows on system hardware, driver details are from 2006 4.0.0.0.
So wiped clean, tried to install 5.02 with all sorts of activation codes but no joy
Wiped again, fresh install of 7 sweet as again.
Both versions were from links by Mandrake.

So....do EasyDiagnostics still offer re-flashing of interface or do I bite the bullet and buy newer interface/software?
I've spent no end of hours trying this but I'm not that naive to know that what we 'pay' for Lexia/Diagbox means it should work straight away.
currently '06 C5 2.0 HDi auto estate Tip run and France trekker - well should be!! occupied currently by '10 Superb DSG 170 elegance- whistles and bells that work
