When I get it back from Jim you can borrow that book, if you want. Noble reckons that running on a shoestring is what helped the team to do what they did. There was a rumour that Mclaren were also making a LSR jet car, but not a lot is known about it (also covered in the book).

Well then how do I put this politely
Absolutely AWESOME
this car is amazing........ there is NO difference when driving on LPG it goes like a rat up a drain pipe.......... Jesus it's quick too.......
I also think it's going to be more economical than the Xantia. I need to get her cleaned and polished over the next few days and then perhaps a photo shoot at the weekend..........

I hear there was believed to be a black streak of lightning and a thunderclap (or was it a sonic boom?) travelling along the M6 today.

It sure is, the long term plan was always for this to become a he daily driver, which is no affordable. The conversion came in at £1400 and I hats with a 77litre tank, which is slightly less than the Xantia, but still workable.
It will be interesting to see if there's any difference in consumption between the two

Re: Yet another adventure....... Peugeot 407 GT Coupe
Steve, I'd expect the 407 to be a tad more frugal given it has the later ES9J4S engine and is presumably a little more aerodynamic than the Xantia.
Also it's a manual.
Interestingly the XM ES9 V6 and TCT are more frugal than their Xantia counterparts despite more or less identical mechanicals and that's believed to be purely down to the XM being thought to be more aerodynamically efficient than the Xantia...

I figured it would be, purely on the fact it's manual and it's a six speed box, I recall the difference between the 2.2 C5 4 speed auto and the C6 2.7 6 speed auto, range her surprisingly the C6 is more economical, but only by about 5mpg.

Re: Yet another adventure....... Peugeot 407 GT Coupe
As per usual......."me and my big mouth"........ driving the Pug to work this morning, I was getting on the motorway and the engine management light came on....... nothing to much to worry about, pull on to the hard shoulder, switch off, switch on, light gone........ that is until was approaching work and got "engine fault" message on the display...... a few choice words worthy of Team WFA and a call to the garage.
I crept the car home and it's shuddering a bit, almost like it's down on a pot or two, however, the acceleration is still there, but somewhat muted. I can't get to the garage before Monday, so I'm back in the Xantia.......
This leads nicely into the car carp day I've had...... started with the Pug, then went onto me not getting the job I wanted, SWMBO announces she has a flat tyre on the Polo, looks like a 13mm bolt in it, then some twinkle in a 3 series BMW tries to take the side one t of the C6 whilst I'm going round the roundabout and he attempts to enter the aforementioned roundabout without bothering to apply the brakes or actually look.......
Going to bed soon, and I'm hoping this is all a dream and I'll wake up and find it didn't really happen........Yeah right.....

It isn't a dream, but a waking nightmare. I hope that you are alright (apart from bl00dy livid, that is)?
