Just got back from the Inspection........ I'm relieved to say that the MOT chap is happy, so thankfully, it's back to normal service

Re: Yet another adventure....... Peugeot 407 GT Coupe
Driving to work this afternoon, and I get the engine management light come on, and the car starts shuddering, and sounds like it's missing...... Got to work and then drove it home tonight and its definitely missing, you can feel it under acceleration, so tomorrow I'll get my Peugeot Planet on it and see what's what. My gut feeling is that it's a coil pack, luckily I have one in stock so it should be a simple fix........ once I find which one it is....

Those coils seem to love failing Steve
Good idea to always have one in stock!

They do Jim, I have to replenish the stock level now, it was number 6 again, which is the back left it's an easy enough job, or it would be if the LPG wasn't on there and in the way. My plan at some point is to replace the back 3 with new ones, however, this will require copious amounts of swearing and no doubt my blood as wellCitroJim wrote:Those coils seem to love failing Steve![]()

The front ones are a doddle to do but the rear requires the inlet manifold moved, and that's half of the battle when the rears need doing.

Interesting it was the same one again Steve... Can you see any reason for that? Running in a hotter spot than the others perhaps?
Is the spark plug OK?

I think it's just luck of the draw Jim, I'll have a proper luck at it over the next couple of weeks, I could do with replacing all the back ones so I know they are good. Under normal circumstances they are a doodle to do, but with the LPG they are a real pain in the rump.
I don't know about the plug or reason for that one, it is strange, I think it's just coincidence at the moment, I may change the plugs when I do the coil packs, it would make sense I suppose........

Plugs on it should be ok as they've done so little, only thing is I wonder if it needs the plugs that are designed for LPG. Some of them are platinum tipped I believe.

I didn't know that there were plug's designed for LPG, so I'll have to have a look at this. The engine management reared its head yesterday.......again. So I really need to get round to sorting fuel mix out...... could that be relate to the plugs I wonder
Anyway, It gets to stretch it's legs on Saturday as Mr Hallworth is coming down on the train from Glasgow, I'll meet him at Preston and then we are making the journey south to BL Auto's, from there to CitroJim's and then drop David at Milton Keynes Central, so he can get home I will then drive back to Preston with the parts I want for the C6.
I'm planning to fill her up on Saturday Morning and do the whole journey on one tank of gas..... if possible

Looking forward to seeing you and David on Saturday Steve..
I used to run the special plugs in my LPG XM. It seemed to make a difference..
They're normally recognisable by having a needle-like centre electrode...

Been giving the Peugeot a spring clean today seeing as the weather was so nice, I will be offering her for sale in the very near future and thought I would take the opportunity to take some pictures.......
