Fair enough but its worth keeping an eye out on ebay there are new ones most days, click on 'saved search' or whatever they call it now and they will email you as they come on line. I have a nice red 2.0. SX I bought a couple of years ago for £550, it needed a few jobs but its fine now. If you are prepared to do a little work on them they can be had very cheaply, one went for about £300 a couple of days ago and my first 2.2 I only cost me £350 just down the road in Exeter, it had an electrical fault which I fixed and ran perfectly after that, I only got rid of it because of the dreadful fuel consumption. You may have to be prepared to travel to get a real bargain, I usually drive up and my wife brings one of the cars back.

Chris (citroenmad) has just put one of his up for sale here.

You can be confident that it is precisely as he describes it.

Hi Peter,
I made an offer on that 1.6L in Edinburgh but I guess it went immediately for the asking price. Nevermind I bought a 2.2L in Filey yesterday which is in mint condition, fully service history, quiet engine. We just need to sort out the service light limp mode issue and the full bhp will be released. I know the 2.2 is less efficient than the 2.0 and tax higher on this one but as I do a straight motorway run to work it'll be running at its most efficient. Not had it on the diag to source the issue hopefully soon.

Good, the 2.2 is a nice car but not if you are living on a pension. Pleased you got something you like.
