DESIGN CHANGE
Due to a couple of factors, I have decided to make a minor adjustment to the repair kit. It will in no way affect its performance, but should increase reliability. Instead of two M12x1 fittings, there will now only be one, and three of the M10x1 fittings. The M12x1 adaptor has also been replaced with another M10x1 adaptor.

The main reason behind the change, is that the M10x1 fittings are available in a "long" format, and therefore allow a better seal to be made. The M12x1 fitting is still required for the Power Steering Pump.

That is all, thank you.

HI everyone! Please please could somebody tell me where to buy daid repair kit, if it was mentioned I failed to find where. Ive been online for 5hours trying to find a reconditioned or old power steering pipe unit from pump to flexi hose to ...whetever?! Im so stressed at this point after keeping the old girl going upto 390,000km now and dont wanna quit just yet after falking out for a reconditioned pump last year. Anyway, the flexi tube in the pics is where my leak is....this is a scrappy one bought two years ago. :( any fresh ideas welcome....i considered using any cars flexi pressure hose jubileed to the pipes either side over more bits of tube?? No laughing allowed ! Many thanks

There's an older page that gives some addresses in France where new / repaired pipes like this can be obtained:
https://xantia.pagesperso-orange.fr/can ... ection.htm

I've mentioned this before, but I'll take the opportunity to mention it again here; there's a flow restriction built into the end of the flexible pipe nearest to the pump. If you end up getting the flexi part replaced, it would be good to see if the supplier can include an equivalent. In the absence of a restriction, people have reported pulsing of the steering on full lock.

Thats interesting cheers. Im no hydraulics expert so finding sites with the right bits and connections for me to build one is proving too stressful. Thanks

Hole necro - old thread revival, but I hope you don't mind me asking, how wide / narrow is that flow restrictor?

Now then I have a Q .. I have an assembly id like to try and make a repair and offer to a xantia owner..

In my pic. The pas assembly feed pipe is rotted and broken off at the rubber. I'm not sure which side of the diagram it is. But lets assume the end I've got the red line. My question is ..

Is there enough metal to make a thread for a union to be screwed into ? Using a standard brake pipe type flare rather then a citroen type flare ?

Image to try and explain what I mean..

Proportionately, looking at that diagram, and guessing how much is sticking out from the crimp based on the width of the pipe as a datum, I'm going to say there's no chance of screwing something ON to it; but if you were willng to get a bit "ghetto", you might be able to screw something IN to it...

If you measure the diameter of the pipe, and it's wall thickness with a vernier calierp, I can knock up the CAD model for the new part and point you in the direction of a good machinist.
