I thought the red one looked like a Fuego with SAAB Sonnet bits thrown at it while the yellow one looks like a Alfa Spyder with Mercedes bits clagged on.

The yellow one has a look of the Facel Vega but I don't recall if that's actually one of those. I sold one a long time ago and I think it was a bit more fierce looking on the grill.

Renée Jalapeño?
I like the red one. A bit Fuego, a bit SAAB, a bit Volvo and a bit Lotus.

Re: Whatsthisthen?..Yellow French sports car-pictionary clue!
.......pictionary clue above.....as they say on catchphrase
"Say what you see"
No car knowledge required, just knowledge of sitcom characters, drinks originally developed for French foreign legionaires to take quinine, and world famous lengthy racing circuits.
Regards Neil
Both the Queen, and the Queen Mother are/were partial to the said beverage mixed with their gin according to wiki!

Re: Whatsthisthen?..Yellow French sports car-pictionary clue!
Well... I followed your instructions, and I came up with a Rene Bonnet.... which sound like a made up name, but isn't
So I'm guessing that could be a Rene Bonnet Le Mans, although it looks more like a Missile ?
After a bit of research, I also found a Matra and Simca link to the Bonnet, and also - very clearly - a link to the Citroen DS

Re: Whatsthisthen?..Yellow French sports car-pictionary clue!
Aside from the bonnet bulge (weird for a flat twin) it's not that bad looking for its era, being French, fwd, and it being grp bodied. This one musta had the four cyclinder engine. In comparison Reliant's Sabra was dog-on-ugly, and the Sabre 4's and later Scimitar body panel split lines were never that tight.!
Nice one. Quite like the beverage myself.

I didnt follow your instructions but im thinking its got a bit of Facel Vega about it so must be a long forgotten offshoot, certainly abstract enough car for a whatsthisthen.
