Re: Whatsthisthen?
Hillmans grill bars went sideways, did the Calefornian go vertical?

Re: Whatsthisthen?
The first of the chassis-less Hillmans, I spent many hours under them with the sheet metal and a welding torch rebuilding spring hangers that had come up through the rear floor.

Re: Whatsthisthen?
I'm sure Jim won't mind me putting this up but you can judge for yourself, equipped with a V8 and Jaguar independent rear suspension!
DVLA show it as manufactured in 1955 and first registered here in 1990. It is currently SORN and theoretically Cream in colour!!
Possibly more info from Jim tomorrow!

Re: Whatsthisthen?
An opportunist interjection, have you seen the Saunter revival Gibbo? Possible chance to meet you on the Monday evening as you can see in the schedule:

I'll have a look at the saunter Mick, not sure if the Zoe is up for the distance, might be a challenge worth having a go at.

Re: Whatsthisthen?
Superb
Indeed, a very heavily modded Minx Californian...
I was gently 'challenged' whilst I took a surreptitious photo of it by the owner's daughter and ended up learning a little about the car. The car has received a bit of wrong sort of attention recently, hence the broken headlights and her suspicion over my motives... Once I'd established my bona fides she was friendly and happy to talk
It's her dad's , it's been his pride and joy in the past but sadly he's suffered two severe strokes recently and is now no longer able to do anything with it and it's either already on eBay or soon will be...
It comes with two V8 engines, one fitted and one spare and it has a Jaguar IRS fitted...
The car looks quite sound and a good project for the right person...

This handy spotters guide to supercars will not help but its here for entertainment purposes only...
archive but new for the FCF Class of 2023. It proved subsequently to be the inspiration behind the "lights interesting/awful thread"...any tail light aficionados out there

I'll give you a clue its not an Alfa Romeo , if it was a Giulietta it would look like this

So the poser is a blast from the old whatsthisthenNewcastleFalcon wrote: Here is a handy identification guide should you get overtaken at night by an unidentified supercar
