Re: Whatsthisthen?
Just did a quick check on Wiki, Armstrong Whitworth and hawker Siddeley were part of the same company but just under different names

Re: Whatsthisthen?
Jim's posted a toughy!! Alot of old cars had round headlights with an indicator below inc Aston Martin DB5s, so could be a Morris, Wolseley, Rover, Volvo....the interior could be the clue...hmmm

Re: Whatsthisthen?
A little hint... It's not the ordinary version of this particular model is what Jim said. So I'm gunna assume it's common in the UK so would rule out an import as why would he say that. This is like playing 'looking through the key hole' virtually impossible!! So UK car, but a higher spec than normal, the steering wheel looks out of place as rather small so could have power steering, looks like an aftermarket steering wheel...black seats with white trim, no seatbelts, can't tell if front seats are separate so could be a bench seat in the front...hmmmm...I like this one Jim, great post

Re: Whatsthisthen?
I'm sure Jim won't mind me commenting on this from what I know. So that line of thinking is pretty good, however what Jim was referring to is the fact that the car has been seriously modified, but the bits you can see, apart from the steering wheel, are pretty standard for the car in question, all the mods are under the skin!!

Re: Whatsthisthen?
I did wonder why the bonnet wasn't shut correctly so I'm now thinking a drag/gasser car. No need for power steering in a straight line. Looking at the 2nd photo I thought I saw a bulge out of the windscreen on the bonnet but put that down to background

Re: Whatsthisthen?
I think the bonnet does shut properly but has been left on the latch for ease of access as the car is still being worked on!
