Initially thought Audi Coupe / UR quattro, but the tarp looks like it has flared rear wheel arches. Wondered about mk3 Capri, but no hint of bumper overriders.

Think Lotus (éclat, excell?) Is a good shout but again quite smooth arches.

It's a D reg if that helps and under restoration. It turns out the owner is part of the Vauxhall Forum and understood why I was taking photos

You get 10 points for Vauxhall, that's it, nothing else. And strangely enough it's not a hard top, this one is a soft top!
