TOH first thoughts, that looks decidedly Mercedes like to me but some research will give me a better chance

but I do believe it is an early Toyota Camry!! I had the next model with slightly rounded rear end like this:

I thought that too Steve but when I went for the Camry Neil said no but it is Japanese. As I had named a Toyota I thought he would have said 'right make' rather than right country so I went for the Laurel. However now racking my brains for the name of the 1985 big Mazda!!

Very similar by the looks of the wiki page but not the Maxima. The UK versions like the car in the pic had no "model" name. Just the numbers and letters.

Pretty rare car that Neil, I only remember ever seeing one before and that was on the Isle of Wight at a car show in Shanklin!! A good spot!!

Wasn't a great export success.
