Re: Whatsthisthen?
I couldn't sus that out even with the alphabet in front of me!!
So I cheated and used an online translator:
Well done Mick with respect to Neil
Is that what it should have been?

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Whatsthisthen?
That looks suspiciously like Leith Hill in Surrey - which has the claim of being the highest point around apart from any other highest points

Re: Whatsthisthen?
It is indeed well done. For the trivia fanatic a link from this geograph page (click the image) tells you all about the drinking trough and further links to everything you wanted to know but were afraid to ask about "The Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association"bobins wrote: 23 Jan 2022, 13:33 That looks suspiciously like Leith Hill in Surrey - which has the claim of being the highest point around apart from any other highest points![]()

Re: Whatsthisthen?
There's also a tenuous link between Leith Hill and the tide gauge at Newlyn posted by Neil in POTD last week. Newlyn was the origin of the accurate mapping on the UK, whereas Leith Hill was the origin of the 6 inch and 1:2500 Ordnance Survey maps of Surrey.

Re: Whatsthisthen?
It is indeed, a pair of Bottle Kilns (the shape not that they produced bottles, more bricks, rooftiles, drain pipes etc.), which I knew of but thought they were in a different place! Nailed them down with the help of the geograph image and the usual precise map associated with the image. Few shots from the outside

Some stepping up to the participation plate required for this one.
Very slow approach, and looking appropriately heavy and there was more than one of them.
Whats this then, plenty to go on
No Holds barred and if you happen to have an edition of the Observers Book of Aircraft on your shelves feel free to dig it out
