Needless to say I'm no expert on this but I would suggest you are on the right lines there Neil but not what's written on the card!! :-D

I think that may be a Scots version of what I have on the card although I believe 'neep' is too specific!! :-D

Had a look and it is too small to mash swedes/neeps so root chopper is probably a kitchen implement from a large house
