Apart from the 2CV which I knew was much earlier I didn't think of Citroen until you told me to and then it jumped out in sore thumb mode!! :-D

Car knowledge isn't really necessary for identifying what the car is under the cover
Just knowing where to look!

Not meant to be fiendishly difficult. I have put in the spoiler some useful research tools....feel free to use them

From the picture that is the unmistakeable hourglass of Diana Rigg, so we have early Avengers episode in colour. The car is very low but has a noticeable hump over the rear wheel. I suspect it is just 40" high making it a Ford GT40 Mk1? :-D

..and you have done very well. Watched that episode on the ITV hub this morning, so looked it up had no idea what the car was so looked up Series 5 Episode 1 on IMCDB.

Well done, I suspect you didnt need Avengerland with your forensic knowledge of Mrs Peel's figure, and very well done if you didn't need IMCDB to identify the car. :-D

Thankyou very much for the morning entertainment. :-D
Spoiler: show
Being totally in Love with Mrs Peel did help and the car has featured in my life in many ways. first GT car I ever saw, first GT Scalextric car I bought, only Le Mans car I've ever sat in (at the London Racing Car Show in 1972ish) and one of my celebratory POTD pictures so it would have been poor form not to recognise the elegance under the sheet. After I made my first answer post, I DDG'd "Mrs Peel with a Ford GT40" and up came the YouTube link !! :-D

Pure guess here Gibbo, possibly a 3 door AX or a C15 van? :)

There was a bit more here which suggests it had 5, or more likely 6 Studs/Bolts on the wheels. If a Frenchy can get away with 3 they do!

I reckon I need a bit extra help if Micks guesses aren't correct.

Does look very much utilitarian to be kind, cart springs and minimalist comfort seating!
