It obviously was feeling a bit unwell. Perhaps it had seen one of the Jaguar SUVs, and felt sick to its' 'stomach' that Jaguar were now no longer style icons or unusual?NewcastleFalcon wrote: 23 Oct 2020, 17:09 That nails the engine debate although with a series 1 it could be a 3.8 Straight 6 for the earlier cars or the 4,2 for the later cars, but not a V12.
Here's the front and an accompanying oil slick....

The other easy to spot difference between S1 and S2 is the headlights. S1 were covered and S2 were open!Hell Razor5543 wrote: 23 Oct 2020, 16:51 Series 1. Later series E Types had the front indicators under the bumper, and different rear lights. Straight 6, as all Series 1 E Types were (but you had either 3.8l or 4.2l engines).

Yesterday I was amazed to see an anonymous, bland SUV that overtook me yesterday was in fact a Jaguar...
It's a very sad state of affairs

It is sad to see marques that have been recognised for style and innovation bunging out ugly monstrosities like this.

Re: Whatsthisthen?
Well done all, its a 4.2/manual/ and made in 1966. I think that generally puts it in series 1 territory although there was a series 1.5. I dont think it was a 2+2 with a couple of token seats in the back. May have recently changed hands last V5 was issued only a few days ago.
Definitely a bona fide Series 1 RHD FHC its chassis number is 1E21466 according to http://xkedata.com/cars/detail/?car=1E21466
1E20001 - 1E21583: Series 1. RHD Fixed Head Coupes (1,583)

Re: Whatsthisthen?
You done brilliant Mick!
I wondered whether the SM which many Citroen Enthusiasts would love to have, had an interior to desire as well as the exterior style etc. All a matter of opinion of course.

Skoda Felicia Convertible!! I came across it from your link in under 10k. !! Considering how old it is, and therefore from Skoda as eastern block company I suspect it flatters to deceive but a good looking early Skoda!!
I took a fancy to the Vitesse in the same list!!

I see in that sale there are what I would describe as very ordinary cars like beetles, Fiat 500 C, Fiat 1100 TV etc at 50,000 euros plus on the back of being eligible to run in the Mille Miglia.
All right its a bit of a legendary thing with a bit of history, but really does it carry with it the overpricing on those lots?
I remember watching an awful programme on it following James (the TV chef) Martin's little ego trip, and the schadenfreude of him hardly getting over ths start line before his very expensive motor clapped out was I'm afraid well-merited by his total obnoxiousness in the build up.

Re: Whatsthisthen?
It is a very attractive car, I beleive it is painted in its original colour scheme (or something close).
It was made in a country that is a member of the EU.
I have a tenuous personal link to this example.
