Steve is the closest so far but only because its underwater!! Not fair to prolong this because whatever method I use I cannot recognise it and I know what it is!! A clue: I have never seen one of these in a village pond before though I'm sure they're not as rare as I think!!

Believe or not it was a turtle!! We had a big debate as to whether it was a terrapin or a turtle but when I got home I discovered that terrapin is a name given to certain turtles that live half in and half out of the water. So it was a turtle and may been a terrapin!!

Yes well done chaps, nice badge. I did wonder whether I had made just too far a leap from turtles to tortoises but I find that all tortoises are turtles but not all turtles are tortoises
