Thought it was much more ancient than that :-D The opening credits of whatever happened to the likely lads I'm sure hav it in with the Manors multi story and other such monstrosities.

I got sidetracked with the Rapier ID game and forgot the Quiz altogether. You won't be surprised to know that your 3 out of 8 was 3 better than my miserable effort!! Well done for the effort and at least it got us another car to ID!! :-D

Some vehicle marques like Vauxhall have a tremendous site of old brochures on-line Vauxpedia a treasure trove of detail. Found a couple of brochures on the Sunbeam Alpine/Rapier Fastback on ebay like this one which has some photographs of the inside pages too. Looks like the Alpine version of the fastback was a marginal step down from the Rapier offering but not much in it and not much different in price.

I'd always fancied one of the earlier rapiers shaped like the old humber hawk bur I never took to the fastback. I'm not a fan of the 4 seater fastback at all from the capri to the mustang I just don't like that shape. Probably stems from my utter detestation of the 911!! :-D

Now this is a gem, from 1965, with plenty of 60's and late 50's cars in the background.
I'll put an easy whatsthisthen? up 50 points for the first screenprint of the rapier posted up, or the time when it comes into shot.
Watch out for the aluminium foil over the grill of the Ford, and the unfortunately topical refreshments advertised at the shop when Tom stops off for his paper.

I love these films. Well worth a watch.

Excellent Mick 50 points! There's plenty to go on in that film for a Whatsthisthen, or indeed a wheresthisthen?

Now I'll pick something out for you to have a go at, but have a peruse see if you can do one I can join in with :-D

I'm going to go for a wheresthisthen? Give me a couple of minutes and I'll post up a screenshot.

My first observation Is what are the chance of that happening. Snap! If Zel didnt give us the benefit of his blog I wouldnt have noticed. but there was an Invalid Carriage shooting across the junction in front of the rapier in "my film" and whats on the front screen of the link to yours, another invalid carriage.

Ye Mick that will be the film in which Julie Christie got the best tune......as posted over at the Pickled egg. There may be better versions but Andre Rieu got the nod because he went a little OTT with his dancers!

A bit of a punt, the factory looks a bit like the old kodak factory in Harrow and the viaduct could be the Great Western going out through Ealing and Park Royal so my answer is North West London around Wembley!! :-D

Great film, mostly shot in west London. The railway bridge could be across what is now the North Circular Road, although not quite sure. A gasometer just visible on the right?

At the end of the film, we have this gem...
M4 Brentford.JPG
...which shows the newly-built elevated section of the M4 at Brentford, before all the junctions were properly operational (the covered signage).
The closing seconds of the film shows North Thames Gas and Coles Priestman on the left, and Smiths Crisps and Martini on the right. The area this side of the gasworks is largely open still.

And I have here offset prints of this pic, showing the same place, and taken from the same spot!
M4 Agfa Brentford ds300_1_zpsz57zqoqq.jpg
Lots of detail in that b/w pic, so worth clicking on and enlarging.
You can even identify many of the cars in Agfa's car park!

The exact position of the bike in the picture is at the junction of Elliot Drive and Scott Crescent in Roxeth as shown by the red arrow on the map:
