Yes thanks Chaps! I have managed to contrive a similar shot from an archived picture and we are now happy that it was my mate's father's Austin A60 Cambridge in Trafalgar Blue!!:

Going mainly on the heater controls it looks like a later model of the Volvo 265 I had.
Took me ages to get the heating working as the vacuum pipes that operated the flaps were disconnected due to an engine swap.

Vacuum systems have been a nightmare for me ever since the wipers on the 100E!! But not a Volvo I'm afraid Steve!

And the last 5 points go to James. It was indeed the Fiat Croma Turbo 2,0. a fast, comfortable car which I settled for when I couldn't find a decent XM at the time I needed it! Unfortunately the turbo gave up the ghost after a few months and I decided it was uneconomical to repair so I put it up for sale as spares or repair, which is when these pics were taken. Due to the actions of local numbskulls who set fire to the skip in the picture (The one without the wheels James :-D) I had to break it for spares as they managed to melt/scorch the nearside paintwork! Not a total disaster as I returned £2670 in parts and I'd only paid £425 for it :-D :-D :
