Neither! I was collecting a replacement TV for an elderly neighbour whose TV blew up on Tuesday evening!! She has no other communication with the outside world and couldn't afford a new one so I found one on ebay for £19 would you believe, then collected and installed it for her. She's back in touch with the world now, which I considered an essential work job. :)
Well done for a) working it out and b) not giving the game away. 20 points for first correct answer!! :-D

I have to say Bobins that I have not turned up a thing which relates to the milestone. From the distances I think it may be near Petersfield or Midhurst but other than that I'm stumped when I need to be stoned. As I have eliminated all google software I cannot even go for a walk on google earth so I'll gracefully declare!! :-D

Unusually, it's not documented by the Milestone Society or on Geograph, so you'd have to rely on a Googl'Erf Streetview trawl around Midhurst...... and there's only one person we'd know who'd be daft enough to do that  :rofl2:

Sorry.... correction.... who has been daft enough to do that :-D

:rofl2: I would have been daft enough myself if I was prepared to use Google anything!! I am guessing that a certain used car dealer on the A286 would not be too far away from the site, but the only choice for me would be to physically go and look, I don't think I could classify that as essential travel! :-D
So my answer is: Within the sound of the apprentice mechanic at the aforementioned dealer Cocking up and dropping one wheel drum on a pile of wheel trims and the other one on his boss' foot at the same time! :-D

Wrong side of Midhurst, I'm afraid, but I can see why you chose that garage as it would seem a bit obvious :)
A massive clue - it's on the A286 a few hundred yards north of
