That is the church/chapel in Kirkharle at which Capability Brown was baptized I assume? :)
It is. Nice place to stop off at just off the A696, nice coffee stop, few craft workshops, and some nice little short walks either round the lake or through the woods and back round past the Church. A group of 4 TVR's of various types burbled into the car park while we where there.

On my wanderings this morning I happened upon this place:

With a nice bridge over the Tees.

Looks quite picturesque an the bridge was very nice. No time to stop there for more than a few moments as I was an hour late by then and completely lost.

Croft-on- Tees.

First time in Darlington since 1978.

Marston Mortaine Chiurch has a notable and rare detached tower Jim, :-D and not far from Milllbrook Proving Ground I see from wiki. Vauxpedia has some nice images of the Proving Ground.

It's certainly an interesting church Neil... I've looked around it and photographed it a few years ago... Next time I'm in the area I'll get some new photos of it...

I'd love to ride my bike around Millbrook :) I often pass it and it's both always busy and bristling with high security...

We decided to go for our first meal out this evening and went to The Galley Hall in Haileybury and consumed an excellent Hunter's Chicken washed down with the local brew, well almost local :-D

I used to live near the source of the River Tweed (back in the mid 70s), and went to school in Tweedsmuir. You can actually pan for gold in the Tweed (you will get some, but not enough to retire on!).
