Did you just come across it by chance Richard? I gave it a mention in the thread "Nice places to stop off at"
after we visited a few years back.

Guess the A68 is not a particularly well-travelled route by FCF Members up/dwown from Scotland.

It is the most dramatic and natural border, climb up to the top particularly from the Northumberland side and the view of the Scottish Landscape laid out before you is superb. Today's POTD from me gives the balcance...quite often it will be shrouded in mist!

Two nice places to stop off at.....

Border Meringues at Jedburgh....opposite the Shell garage in an unassuming Industrial estate building. Top quality coffee cakes and meals.

and another its worth travelling to...Turn off into the Village of St Boswells and go to The Mainstreet Trading Company.

Books/Coffee/Deli/ and home. A stand of All the TinTin books in the shape of a Rocket and as I-Spy Citroen H Vans will in a couple of minutes testify a Citroen H van in the car park!

Saw my "local" H-van this morning, for the 2nd time this week, trundling up the A20, in bumper-to-bumper traffic towards London. Can't be too many foodtrucks that commute to their pitch.

Can anyone here help me with a query? I bought a lovely 1967 HY van and gave it to a garage to restore (mistake but that’s another story). They’ve lost the paperwork it came with and I need to prove the age of the vehicle to DVLA to get it registered. Citroen UK want to charge me £200 for a certificate of conformity but I’m wondering if there is another - and cheaper! - way round this
Any suggestions gratefully received..

While doing your post...
Hit >Full Editor & Review
>Attachments
>Add Files
Then select your pic from your computer/device.
Its name will appear on the list.
Give it a title, if you wish (in the white File Comment box)
Select another/more, if needed.

Place the cursor in the post where you want the photo to be positioned (important to do this!).
Press >Place in line for the photo to be pasted.

Hit >Preview (as often as you want to see what the post looks like).
When all OK, hit >Submit.

i think this is the chassis number - i took a picture of it the other day while i was at the garage.

Current systems only recognise the full 17-digit VINs, unfortunately.

If all you need is the build date for the van, Citroen UK produced this free-of-charge for us when we purchased our XM new in 1999 - it was built in 1996!

A certificate of conformity could well cost more, and could be a bit academic, or at least 'historic'. Not sure what conformity rules were In The Year of Your Van.

A build date might at least satisfy DVLA, and might also mean exemption from needing a CofC.
